The evening presentation :

The St Prex Classics 2013 will open with an evening of pure gold, as has been its custom from the very start. For the very first time, star ballet dancer Svetlana Zakharova and violinist Vadim Repin will perform together. Despite being husband and wife, they have never appeared together on stage.

Here they will be accompanied by the Stradivari Ensemble under the direction of maestro Mikhail Rappoport. « Dance », Paulo Coelho wrote in his book The Pilgrimage, « is one of the most perfect forms of communication with the infinite intelligence. » It is enough to see Svetlana Zakharova dance to be convinced; she is grace and refinement personified. As for Vadim Repin, he needs no introduction; he is one of the most talented violinists on the international circuit. Yehudi Menuhin once said of him: «He is simply the best and the most perfect violinist that I have ever heard. »

After the stars of the Paris Opera, St-Prex is proud to welcome a star from the Bolshoi together with the ‘tsar’ of the violin for two soirées 100% Russian. This overture to Russia is also a homage to Diaghilev, who had the talent to bring together artists from different backgrounds, as the St Prex Classics does today.
